In Memory of Thomas J. Vessenmeyer

Thomas Jacob Vessenmeyer, 83, born in Glendale NY, passed away Monday at his home in Macon, Missouri, surrounded by his family. Tom married the love of his life, Deanna Vessenmeyer in September 1964. He aspired to live to see his 60th wedding anniversary. Tom took great pride in working for The Port Authority of NY & NJ for 38 years. 23 of those years were spent working in the World Trade Center, Tower 1 on the 69th floor.

Tom’s two passions in life besides his family were his love of bowling and of model trains. Tom spent 70 years of his life in bowling alleys and up until a couple of months ago was still bowling on a league at Macon Bowl. His love of model trains spans decades with elaborate layouts and set ups.

Tom is survived by his wife, Deanna Vessenmeyer, his son Philip Vessenmeyer and wife Kim Vessenmeyer, his daughter DonnaMarie Forney and husband Matthew Forney. His only grandchild that he adored, Annabelle Forney. His two sisters, Virginia Connell and Patricia Crombie plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents Thomas and Marion Vessenmeyer.
