Thomas LaMarca, III, 67 of Morganville, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.
Born Sunday, April 28, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York, Thomas was the son of Elizabeth Michalak and the late Thomas LaMarca, II.
Thomas was a graduate of Grady High School in Brooklyn. His love of learning led him to take numerous college courses. He was always skilled with his hands and ultimately became an electrician, which was his lifelong career. Thomas worked as an electrician for the Port Authority for more than 40 years at Newark Airport. Through his hard work and dedication, he worked his way to becoming a Supervisor. If you ever flew through Newark Airport, it was Thomas and his crew who made sure the runway lights were functioning, and guided pilots and their passengers safely home.
When Thomas wasn't working he enjoyed playing golf, and was an active member of the Port Authority Golf League where he was captain of his golf team. He loved doing projects around his home, both interior and exterior, and even doing his own landscaping and auto maintenance. Thomas did all of the oil changes, he changed the brakes on his cars, and there was never a problem too challenging for him to solve. Thomas had an incredible eye for detail. He was not satisfied until every scratch was buffed out, and every fixture was precisely level. Everything Thomas did, he did with purpose, he did with intention, and he did with passion. Most of all, Thomas loved every moment he spent with his beloved wife and their three dogs. If Thomas was not at home or on the golf course, chances were that he could be found with his wife in Atlantic City at a poker bar or in the "Diamond Club" enjoying dinner and a drink, where not a moment would have passed without a smile being on his face. Thomas was a loving and caring man who will be missed dearly by all those that were blessed to have him in their lives.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; by his loving children, Thomas (Melissa), Laura (Bryce), Victoria (Anthony), Deana, and Gregory (Katherine); by his loving mother Elizabeth; by his caring sister Maria; and by his cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Avery, Violet, and Arthur; and by many, many caring and close friends.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Sunday at Garden of Memories Mausoleum located at 300 Soldier Hill Rd, Township of Washington, NJ 07676.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society are made in memory of Thomas' sister, Janet Andreassi.
