Melanie Marie Rodriguez, 41, of Elizabeth, NJ, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 15, 2024.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation at Werson Funeral Home, 635 North Wood Avenue, Linden, on Sunday, April 21st from 2 PM to 6 PM. There will be a Funeral Service for Melanie in the funeral home on Monday, April 22nd at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ. Melanie was born to Luis and Mercedes (Pesante) Rodriguez in Brooklyn, NY, where she was raised. She also lived in Newark, NJ, and then Elizabeth, NJ, where she resided for the past 12 years.
She was employed as an Executive Administrative Assistant for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the past 7 years.
Melanie enjoyed watching Netflix and Reality TV shows, cooking and baking. She was a very “Sassy” woman, and loved doing her make-up, including her nails and eye lashes. She enjoyed dressing up in many different fashions. The only thing she loved more was her son, Jayden, who was everything to her. He graduates next month in her honor.
Melanie was predeceased by her beloved father, Luis Rodriguez on March 15, 2019. Surviving is her loving mother, Mercedes Rodriguez, her cherished son, Jayden Cruz, her dear sister, Tiffany Thernize and her husband, Wesley, her niece, Aubriana Thernize her nephew, Evan Thernize, her aunt, Elizabeth Morales, and her cousin, Emily M. Morales.
