Jack C. Benigno, 73, of Monroe Township passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Wedgwood Gardens Care Center in Freehold.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Jack resided in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township for 42 years before recently settling in Monroe. Jack was a graduate of McKee Technical High School in Staten Island and shortly after began working with his father's company, Rite Electric, as an electrician apprentice. He then went on to work as an electrician with the New York and New Jersey Port Authority, where he would retire from. Jack was a member of the National Guard, enjoyed all sports including bowling and skiing and enjoyed being a craftsman. He also enjoyed cooking traditional Italian food for his family of which recipes were memorized, being taught by his mother and aunts. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Frances Benigno. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Marge Benigno; children, Thomas Benigno, Dennis Benigno with his wife Kortney and James Benigno; grandchildren, Sal, Frankie, Dominick and Michelina; brother, Bob Benigno with his wife Geri; niece, Stefanie Vogel; nephew, Christopher Benigno along with beloved in laws, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made to Alzheimers Association.
