Daniel Benjamin Muscatello, 79, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he became a decorated officer and earned the rank of Captain. Dan retired from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey after a successful 25 year career. He went on to become a leader and mentor in the Air Cargo and Aviation Industry.
Dan enjoyed all sports, especially golf and football, and was a lifelong fan of the New York Giants. He loved music, playing the piano, writing poetry and reading books with his grandchildren. Dan valued his family above everything else in life, and was known for his integrity, humor and quick wit
He was born on October 9, 1944 and raised in New York City by his late parents, Daniel and Marguerite (Morrissey) Muscatello. Dan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce (Thompson) Muscatello; daughters, Deanna Kempinski (Ken), Danielle Cerbin (Scott); grandchildren, Ava and Kenny Kempinski, Mary, Jazlyn, Scotty, Isabella and Gabriella Cerbin; and many extended Thompson family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane) and on Monday after 8:30 a.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs) with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.
Contributions in Dan’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
