Leonard “Lenny” Colasuonno died unexpectedly at Broward Health Medical Center on February 15th in Coral Springs at the age of 72.
Lenny is survived by his wife Barbara nee (Sportello), son Leonard “Lenny” (Beth) Colasuonno of New York and granddaughter Savanna Colasuonno. Lenny is preceded in death by his parents Rocco Colasuonno and his mother Yolanda nee (Moccia). Lenny is also survived by his Brother Dennis (Jennifer) Colasuonno and sister-in-law Carol.
Lenny was born in the Bronx, New York to Rocco and Yolanda on, January 4th 1951 Lenny met the love of his life Barbara in 1966 and was happily married for 51 years. Leonard served as a NY/NJ Port Authority Police Officer from 1972-1992. After moving to Florida Lenny worked with the City of Lighthouse Point and the Lighthouse Point Police Department. Lenny leaves behind many devoted friends and colleagues as well as his loving family.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, February 24th at 10:30AM at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 9950 NW 29th St., Coral Springs, FL 33065. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd from 4:30-8:30PM and on Thursday, February 23rd from 4:30-8:30PM at at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. Inurnment will take place at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida at a later date.
