George Krone of Dumont, died on Sunday, January 15, 2023. George is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Kathleen. Survived by his daughter, Diane Smaldone and her husband Tom, four grandchildren, Tommy, Rylee, Katie and Captain Christopher Smaldone.
George was a proud graduate of St. Peter's Prep and St. Peter's College. A Korean War Veteran, George would go on to 44 years of distinguished service in data management at the Port Authority of NY and NJ. George was a member of the Dumont Senior Center and an active parishioner of St. Mary's Church of Dumont.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, January 19th, 10 AM at Our Lady of the Lake, Sparta, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. A celebration of George's life will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 beginning at 4 PM and concluding at 8 PM at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ
