Charles Dzwonkowski, 76, passed away on November 24, 2023.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosemary, their three boys, Jeffrey, David, and Brian, three daughters-in-law, Alyssa, Megan, and Amy, six grandchildren, Sophia, Eli, Sarah, Drew, Daisy, and Finnegan, his brother, Donald, his sister-in-law, Diane, and his brother-in-law, Frank.

Charlie was raised in Tottenville, Staten Island. He joined the air force and was stationed in Ramstein, Germany. He was the crew chief for a C54 aircraft.

Charlie married Rosemary Woerner in 1971, and they moved to 5 Louis Circle in Middletown, NJ where they raised their family. He continued to live there until his death.

Charlie retired from the Port Authority Police Force after twenty-five years of service.

Charlie was generous with his time. He worked tirelessly at the Red Bank Elks, Monmouth Boat Club, and was always willing to help a neighbor.

Charlie enjoyed watching and participating in all sports, baseball, softball, golf, boating, fishing, tennis, and skiing when he was young, biking and sailing when he was older. He loved tooling around in his MGB and going to his favorite hangout, Brothers.

But most of all, Charlie was a kind and thoughtful husband and a concerned father and grandfather, who loved his family intensely. He will be sorely missed.

As Charlie always said “No one wants to go to a wake or funeral services.” So in keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Charlie's grandnephew Michael’s neurofibromatosis fund. Checks should be made out to Joe Woerner (memo: Michael’s N F Fund) and mailed to Joe Woerner, 11031/2 3rd Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ, 07712.

All services are under the direction of the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, N.J.
