Howard R. Bergendahl passed in peace June 29, 2021, at the age of 90.
Preceded in death by his wife, Palma. Dear friend and companion of Rosemary Flaherty.
He is the loving father of Howard Bergendahl (Diane), Eric Bergendahl (Joanne), Rosanne Ficarra, Linda Danenza and adored Pop Pop of Justin, Nicole, Alex, Eric, TJ, Corey, Steven, Kyle, and Michael. Brother of William McGann (Terri) Howard will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, published columnist, champion of social events, humorist, fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, decorated Sergeant of the Port Authority Police Department of NY and NJ, proud patriot and Purple Heart recipient of the US Marine Corp during the Korean War.
A celebration of Howard’s life will be held in New York at a future date. A memorial donation can be made in memory of Howard to the Heart Foundation at http://www.heart.org.
