Richard A. 'Dick' Fredholm

East Hanover resident enjoyed spending time with his family Richard A. "Dick" Fredholm, 86, of East Hanover, N.J., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, in Parsippany, N.J.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a service at 6:30 p.m. in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, N.J. 07068. A short prayer and remembrance will be offered at 9 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island, N.Y. Dick was born and resided in Brooklyn, before settling in East Hanover 43 years ago. Prior to his retirement, he was a senior construction inspector at Newark Liberty International Airport for the Port Authority of NY and NJ. He was a former member of the First Evangelical Free Church in Brooklyn. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing tennis and golf, vacationing, and spending time with family and friends. His family meant everything to him and he will be truly missed.

Dick was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris C. Fredholm (Olsen).  He was the devoted father of Rick Fredholm and Karen Sayre and her husband, Ed. He was the cherished grandfather of Kristen and her husband, Keith, Lauren, and Brad Sayre and treasured great-grandfather of Kinsley Grace. He was the dear brother of Charlie and wife, Alice, Donnie and wife, Solveig, in-laws, Judy and Carsten Paulsen, and the late Ronnie and Priscilla Olsen. Dick was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Meals on Wheels Program of Morris County.
