Paul George Chernesky, 78
, of Toms River, passed on Wednesday April 29, 2009 at the Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brick. Born in Forrest City, Pa he lived in Jersey City, Hazlet and Brick before moving to Toms River 17 years ago. Mr Chernesky was a New York Police Officer for the Port Authority for 20 years. He was a US Marine serving during the Korean War.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Mary Theresa and his son, James. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Epifano); Two sons, Paul John of Aberdeen, William of Lake Como; his daughter, Maggie of Clintondale, NY; Three stepsons, Michael Wells of Brick, Timothy Wells of Barnegat and Patrick Wells of Brick; His sisters, Lucille Peduto of Upper Saddle River and Ann DeMaio of Clifton; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visiting will be Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd, Toms River. Funeral Services Friday 9:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home, arrive at the funeral home 9:00 a.m., Interment Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.
